We advocate construction of a waterfront boathouse to increase public access to the water; provide a center for boating skills, water safety, and environmental education; and support those who use the river for recreation, nature appreciation, and fitness. Mayor's Boat Ride, Sunday August 10 2008: Launch 8:30 - 10a.m. and convene near the railroad pivot bridge just upstream of the Petaluma Marina; starts 10 - 10:30 a.m.; arrive at Turning Basin 10:30 - 11 a.m. Read A Message From The Mayor or click for more information. TO RENT A KAYAK: Clavey Kayaks on Petaluma Blvd South is happy to provide kayaks for the Mayor's paddle. A limited number of 1 & 2 person recreational kayaks are available for the event. You'll need to transport the boat(s) to the Marina and back. Boats can be picked-up on Saturday afternoon, or Sunday morning between the hours of 8:30 - 9:30. They can be returned on Sunday between the hours of 1:00 - 3:00, or on Monday morning beginning at 10 am. Clavey has arranged a special discounted rate of $40.00 for single boats and $50 for tandems. Lifevests and paddles are included in your rental. All proceeds are being donated to the Petaluma Small Craft Coalition and Friends of the Petaluma River.
